Whether indoor or large outdoor children's playground equipment, regular maintenance is essential to prevent safety issues. Carefully check all fasteners for looseness, all parts and welds for any abnormalities, and for any unusual noises during operation. The area and the entire equipment should be kept clean at all times.
1. Most playground equipment is outdoors and exposed to rain and wind. If equipment gets wet, move it to a dry surface, drain the water, and allow it to air dry to prevent water corrosion.
2. Playground equipment is mostly made of plastic, fiberglass, and metal. When cleaning plastic and fiberglass, use diluted soapy water, disinfectant laundry detergent, or bleach to soak the equipment, then scrub with a soft cloth or brush, and rinse thoroughly with clean water. To remove rust from metal parts, brush off any loose rust and wipe dry with a cloth. After sun exposure, spray with paint, let it dry, and then spray again for protection.
3. Clean, dry, and disinfect the equipment only after the paint is completely dry.
4. When cleaning the electrical components, always ensure the power is off. Wipe with a damp cloth (not wringable), and only reconnect the power after it is completely dry.
5. When performing maintenance on the equipment, always check that all connections are secure, frequently moving metal connections, electrical circuits, and general components for damage, and ensure that no sharp parts remain to avoid potential safety hazards.
